I had the honour of working alongside Western medical practitioners who welcomed collaboration and even invited my input as part of the patient's care plan. There were no pointed fingers, no hierarchy; just one shared goal: supporting the patient.
What I was able to offer was something simple, yet deeply meaningful: a safe space. A space where families could simply be together. A space to pause, connect, and spend precious time with one another.
Even when time felt limited, moments of presence is incredibly powerful.
Using the NADA protocol, each participant received five small needles in one ear. We gathered quietly around the bedside, with soft, calming music in the background. The atmosphere was intimate, peaceful, and free from expectation.
There were tears. There was laughter. There were moments of silence that said more than words ever could.

The purpose of the session was not to fix, change, or rush anything. It was simply to be. To create room for connection without a timeline, agenda, or expectation.
What unfolded was profound: a sense of togetherness so strong that, for a little while, the outside world faded away.
How can five tiny needles create so much peace?
Suffering was softened. A little more ease entered the room. Patients and their loved ones often found renewed energy and an inner reserve of strength to help them cope with the journey ahead.
Receiving NADA acupuncture together fostered a deep sense of fellowship and family connection. It created space for meaningful conversation, gentle understanding, and strengthened communication during an incredibly tender time.
The physical and emotional effects were equally profound. Better sleep, a greater sense of calm, brighter mood, and moments of genuine relief. In a time often marked by uncertainty, these small shifts made life feel more tolerable, and well being more accessible. Sometimes, healing isn't about curing.
Sometimes, it's about the connection, the presence, and giving the family the space to walk the palliative journey together.
NADA Acupuncture use in supporting patients and their families through the palliative journey, together.
